El Prevost (Lincoln Prevost) born and based in S.E London, has been influenced by all styles of music from an early age but found his true musical passion within the early rave scene of the 90s. After being inspired by years of clubbing with close DJ friends, he decided he wanted to take a step further and study Sound Engineering and Music Technology. This is where he made a commitment to producing his own creations and develop a distinctive sound.
The diversity of the musical culture of the last decade provided El Prevost with a great many friends who were successful DJs, which in itself proved to be a strong enough lure into the world of audio production. After completing his studies at Hurricane Studios in music technology and sound engineering, Lincoln began a career at London’s Matrix Studio, with three 96-channel SSL rooms that have played host to acts such as Placebo, Sounds of Blackness and Blur.
That is why he is among a growing breed of producers who try to steer away from the well-established norms of house production, instead looking for new directions in sound shaping and manipulation to produce strange new sonic elements and radically altered drum patterns. It is this tireless, boundary-pushing approach that has ensured that he remains idiosyncratic.

In the early 2000s, when UK Garage was giving way to Grime, El Prevost was making his first major mark on the UK’s underground music. In 2001 this began, with the set up of his own label, Linx Recordings - featuring Pay As You Go Cartel, Wiley, Kano, Tinchy Stryder & Flowdan, amongst many others. Then, inspired by the likes of Derrick May, Theo Parrish & Wally Lopez, El Prevost shifted towards the house & techno scene, setting up his second label Built in Britain Records (launched in 2004) under which he released his own material as Deepologists.
Then, following these releases from some of the world’s finest DJs and MCs, he released his first solo release on Elevation Recordings in 2010. This received support from the likes of Osunlade & Laurent Garnier, along with 5/5 reviews in Debug and IDJ magazines. El Prevost then went on to release 5 EPs on London’s Third Ear Recordings…as label boss Guy McCreery quotes, “El Prevost has a talent for beats, grooves and sound design that few can match”.
His solo tracks have been selected by the likes of Steve Bug, Patrice Scott, DJ Hell, Pearson Sound, Steffi, Dan Ghenacia/Apollonia, Dixon and Ricardo Villalobos. Thus in 2013, Allez Ally was selected by Apollonia as the leading track on Fabric 70!
